Communications Minister Pantami has ordered Telecom companies to block all lines not connected with the National ID Card.
Is the Minister aware that there are hundreds of Nigerians who registered for the National ID card since 2013, but couldn’t get them because of the inefficiency of the system?
So, why punish innocent citizens for no fault of theirs? Why should innocent people continue to be punished for the inefficiency in service delivery by government organizations.
Why should it take even longer than a month to get your National a ID Card? In Nigeria, it takes longer than three years or four years. Why do I need connections or illegal service to secure a National ID Card.
As a fair-minded public official, the Minister should help to fast track the process of issuing National ID. I fully support the objective behind the directive, but the Minister should ensure that innocent Nigerians don’t get their lines blocked for no fault of theirs.

The motive as I feel is quite welcomed. But national id card which I registered with my wife at Alausa, Lagos, since 2012 or is it 2013 is yet to be supplied to us. So if you blocked my line and that of my wife, the entire family is therefore cut off from communication.
The Minister said NIN.That is national identification number NOT card.
